8th Grade (Rising Freshman)

High School counselors will come to Clifton Middle School to schedule Rising Freshman on specific days in Spring semester of their 8th grade year. Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend. Several paper notices and an All-Call will go out to 8th grade families to make you aware of this. If your student did not bring the paper notice and/or your phone number was not up to date in your students contact information to receive the All-Call phone message, please contact Victoria Paxton at CMS to find out the day your students high school counselor will be there and sign up for a time and date. If none of the dates work for you that they will be there, please email the counselor assigned to your students last name to schedule a separate meeting.

If you do not wish to attend, you student WILL receive a COPY of the DRAFT of their potential 8th grade schedule to take home. We ask that the students get your signature and return it to Mrs. Paxton in the Counseling Office at CMS.  Scheduling does NOT guarantee they will receive all of those classes, these are their requests for what they would like to take.

We discuss diploma types, review grades, discuss all electives available, and answer any questions the student or family may have. Schedules are subject to change based on the availability of classes.
